Around the world, road traffic injuries are major public health challenge that requires concetrated efforts for effective and sustainable prevention. An estimat of 1.2 million people are killed on road crashes every year and as many as 50 million suffer injuries. The World Health Organization believes that, these figures could increase by more than half over the next 20 years unless there is a firm commitment to road safety and accident prevention, especially in developing countries such as Nigeria.

Here in Nigeria, most adults will know of someone who has been killed or injured in a road traffic accident. It is a sad fact that many of these accidents and their consequences would have been avoided.

The FRCS carried out a 5-day road safety campaign on Lagos roads. Read more about Operation 'Linestorm' in an article published in the Daily Sun. The operation targeted a range of issues including:

Adherence to speed limits
Removal of obstructions on highways
Use of Seat belt
Arrest of under-aged and drunk drivers
Removal of extra headlights
Enforcement of lane discipline
Use of Cell phone
Overloading
Impounding of vehicles with right-hand steering

On 5 and 6th of November 2008 is unforgetteable day in the historyn of Aran-Orin that is the day chief Ejemo of Aran-orin Abidoye John was finally burie at his home resident at Aran-orin,the occassion witness many dignity in the kwara state ,one of them is the Kwara state Gov Bukola Saraki and others from the state.In short the day will remain the mind of many indigene of Aran-Orin but if that attention is pay to his home land when hE was alive them Aran-Orin could have be the major town in kwara state today.
Well one thing i know is that we are still expecting the masSiah in the towm could it be you please work towards it.
Again Bukola Saraki Kwara state Gov spent 6million for Ejemu burial ceremony and then gave his wife 10 million naira has compensation.He also promised to immortalise John Abidoye by taring Aran-Orin road.Once again governor promises for how many year would they promissing we are expecting "sha",i hope they we do it this time.you to pray over it,that road is a disgrace to our integrity.

US ELECTION 2008 OUR LESSON CENTER

November 4th 2008 is a day that everybody in the world would like to remember in

their history book, i mean the day America decide to choose their president.i know

clearly Barack Obama has set history for it self and his family, is the first black man

the become an America president his the one that fulfill Martin Luther king prohecy

that people we not be judged with thier colour but with the contect of their character.
What we shoul all learn from this is the ability to accept defeat as Mccain show to us

in America
Aran-Orin as always be a battle ground were political party see the opponet as their

enemy,if is true that we are all working for development of our dearly town then the

issues of using cultlas or magical belt or gun to face our self during election is not the WYA

way we should play polities in Aran-orin.I am using this opportunity to apeal to all the

agreve party in the town to come back and rethink that violent can not solve any

problem in the saiD town,let us use America as our lesson were president election is

held without violent .

GONE SO SOON, CHIEF EJEMU OF ARAN-ORIN.

Do you know Chief Ejemu of Aran-Orin has come and gone, but his memory will never be forgotten in the historical event of Aran-orin? We may have our different perspective on his life story which may either be negative or positive, but some people see has someone who blocked the progress of his town and the entire Igbomina land in Kwara state, while some see him as political frontier for his community and Igbomina land.

He is dead now, so let us reason together even if is the blockage to the progress, do we realise that there is nobody in front as politician in Aran-Orin, who can stand for us, who is capable of defending the interest of our people and that will do what people want? I have never seen the man on the picture of people I am looking at but I beleive one thing that God will send the messiah who we help the people of Aran-orin.

The politics of violence like the one witnessed on November 1, 2007 will never produce unity and progress in Aran-orin. Therefore, why don't we use Obama and Hilary Clinton as example when Obama won primary election? Immediately it was announced that Obama won, Hilary Clinton declared her support for him., That is the kind of politics we need in Aran-Orin.

If Mr A joins AC and Mr B joins PDP you need to remember that both of you are working for the progress of Aran-orin. It is never too late to take the correction now in other not to repeat what has happened in the last election in Aran-orin. We can not all go in one direction in other not to loose all.

Everything has been said to promote unity, progress and good politics. What we need is AN honest, dedicated, sefless and true leader that will listen to the cry of his people and do the will of the people wHich is the will of God.
